OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION IS TO ANALYZE AND REPORT DATA, TRENDS, AND OPINIONS THAT WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TEACHING THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

Curricula will always vary, but great teaching is universal. Great teachers know how to unleash and channel the innate curiosity of children in order to transform them into critical thinkers and problem solvers. But the many requirements that vary within individual states and countries result in uneven teaching standards and millions of unprepared teachers. The pandemic has introduced online learning to the world and accelerated a path towards innovation, yet the process of global teacher preparation remains stuck in a much earlier era.

“Ensuring that future teachers are equipped to teach in tomorrow’s learning world will require a reimagining of the fundamental role of teachers. In a world where information is readily accessible, the role of the teacher as 'dispenser of knowledge' doesn’t work anymore. It is time to rethink the knowledge and capabilities we expect teachers to be endowed with, and how they can meaningfully contribute to the future of student learning, development, and growth.“

HOW WE'LL GET THERE

Our first major project will be the launch of a large-scale landscape analysis to understand exactly how teachers currently enter the profession in the 197 countries that offer public education.
